Out Now
When the emergency lights flicker out, 12-year-old Izzy knows the truth—no one is coming for Lucas. No one but her. Armed with a backpack of oddities, a threadbare stuffed animal, and a promise she refuses to break, Izzy sets off for an island swallowed by legend. Ghostly figures guide her steps. Truths whisper through the air. Magic seeps under the surface. But the island is no fairy tale—it keeps what it takes. Time is slipping. The island already stole her sister. If Izzy fails, Lucas will be next.

Fierce Advocate of Imagination...
C. J. Biggin is the author of IYANWA, a middle-grade fantasy adventure story that centers around a unique perspective of life and death, self-determination, and the bond that binds siblings together.
Biggin grew up in the north of London, UK, and didn’t start writing until later in life. Before that, he spent his life telling stories through music, playing at venues from London to California. He’s written a play, had songs featured in movies, illustrated numerous wonderful books and the front cover of Highlights magazine.
He never thought his life's journey would lead to a story quite like IYANWA, but that all changed when he drew a picture of little boy carrying a backpack stuffed with twigs sitting on a fox.
When he's not writing, you can find him behind the piano writing melancholic songs (because he can't play fast), or designing something for users to get excited by. He lives with his wife and two children in a place called San Marcos, California.

I love to play the piano, and also sing a little. I used to sing a lot, but now I'm happy to create songs and record them on my phone! I've also recently taken up Tang Soo Do Karate! Yep - I'm late in the game, but it's so brilliant; the discipline, the exercise, and being reminded that I'm not quite as flexible as perhaps I once was!
I also love to work on designs, which means building user-centered designs which solve people's problems, or sell products. Mainly my interests outside of work center around writing. I have a prequel in the works for IYANWA, so I'm excited to see that realized.
Oooh, good question! I rarely write without ambient music in the background and it's often the type of music that gives you a sense of an environment, or space in a world that you can't capture in silence. I'll change it up when I'm feeling the pressures of a particular scene. When I started writing IYANWA, I was listening to a lot of soundtrack music. I wanted the book to be filled with heart, as well as suspense. My favorite artist is Hans Zimmer, and I listened to him throughout the process probably a million times. It is amazing how music can influence your writing, and I definitely felt that when creating IYANWA!
Sure! I'm excited to share IYANWA with a broad audience and tackle the difficult conversations through the adventures that IYANWA brings! You can reach me at wildrunpress@gmail.com
I hate to admit it, but I was without one. I don't even remember one. I'm so sad about it, but even more sad now that I know how important they are.
Right now I'm working on the prequel to IYANWA and I'm really really excited about it. It makes the story a complete circle, and that's what I'm most excited about. Other than that, I have a good few ideas up my sleeve, and would love to get them out there one day!
